The Coseley Comets, Coseley Fun Day

Saturday 6th June saw the Coseley Comets perform once again at the annual Coseley Fun Day, organised by the Big Local Community Committee.

comets2On an early summer’s day with the sun beating on Clayton Park, the community came together and gathered to make it another success and
to prove that the community spirit is alive and kicking in Coseley and the surrounding areas.

The band gave two arena performances which left the watching audience wanting more and more from the kids. The performance consisted of their 2014 show, ‘The Wild West’ and followed by a taste of the 2015 show Musical Diversity, ‘A Night At The Theatre’

The Corps Director Jayne Poole said ‘it is always a pleasure and a privilege to perform in front of the community that we represent wherever we perform throughout the country and we hope that we make them proud that the Coseley Comets is their band’.

We would like to say a big thank you to the performers who excelled themselves on the day. Also a big thank you to the organisers and the volunteers from the Big Local, without who there would not be a Coseley Fun Day. We would also like to say thank you to the audience who listened and showed their appreciation after both performances.

We would like to give a thank you to Black Country Radio who expertly ran the afternoon and in particular to Kevin Matthews who gave the band a tremendous welcome on to the arena on both occasions.

However the engagements keep on coming for the ‘in demand’ Coseley Comets. Next Saturday it is the turn of St Chad’s Church Summer Fayre to receive the Comets followed by Wilkinson Primary School and Darkhouse Baptist Church Summer Fayre’s
