BYBA National Championships – Championship & Premier Class Review by Matt, Sarah, Hannah and Tash Chorley
That’s what I thought when I was asked to write a review; I’m an electrician not a fancy journalist. But then I realized what a privilege it was to be asked to comment on this fantastic day....
Many thanks to Charlotte for stepping forward and volunteering to review the first half of our 2017 National Championships....
A blisteringly hot day in the North of England saw marching musical units from across the country take part in the first two competitions of the season.
It's a steep road up to the stadium but it's the thudding sound echoing off the neighbouring buildings that causes your heart to beat faster - you know it can only be the sound of a drumline warming up.
Having taken on a new drum corps first for me earlier this season by compering at the SoundSport/IMG Glasgow event, and really enjoying it, I thought I’d do another one by writing a review for the first show of the season.
The 3rd of October saw 15 bands and corps take part in one of the most exciting and closest fought British Youth Band Association National Championships in recent years.
