The British Youth Band Association is delighted to announce that Oliver Richardson has joined the BYBA Council Team.

ollyphotoIntroducing himself Oliver said “I have been involved with marching bands since 1988, and still involved with the same band now.

I’ve been Corps Director at Revolution since 2009. When I started the band was very much a traditional scout band, and has since moved through the different styles to where it is now.

The band is still an active Scout Band which is where we forge our strong recruitment channels.

I’m looking forward to working with the BYBA team, assisting with my vision of keeping youth at the forefront of the activity, and seeking grants for BYBA to assist the delivery its objectives.”

Association Chair Paul Cartwright added “I’m pleased that Olly has volunteered to work with Council, especially with the skills that he brings from his long background in scouting, to two other critical areas to the youth band activity – successful fundraising and recruiting young people.

The latter is really important as BYBA further develops a Youth Policy”.
