Thurrock Marching Brass received special assistance from the Henry De Gray Lodge, who operate out of the Cross Keys temple in Chadwell St Mary, when they purchased some new instruments for the youngsters in the band.
Worshipful Master, David Bailey took great pride in presenting four new trumpets and one new baritone to the young members of Thurrock Marching Brass, who were allowed into the temple and were fascinated by the décor and set-up.
Paul Morgan, Chairman of Thurrock Marching Brass commented,
“We cannot thank the Worshipful Master and everyone at Henry De Gray Lodge enough for their incredible generosity in purchasing these much needed new instruments for our youngsters. These instruments will now be put to good use as we embark on our summer program. This year the band not only take on the best in the UK, but also the best in Europe too as they have been invited to compete at the European Championships in Holland on 26 September. I very much look forward to welcoming Worshipful Master, David Bailey to our own hosted DCUK Essex Show on Sunday 6 September at Aveley Football Club, where he will be able to enjoy all the performances including that of Thurrock Marching Brass and their new instruments”.
